Oregon has lost senior guard Dylan Ennis for the season to a broken foot, but his father says no decision has been made about applying for a medical hardship waiver in order to potentially play a sixth season of college basketball in 2016-17.

"Me and Dylan talked [Wednesday] night but we never even talked about that [a waiver]," Tony McIntyre, the player's father, told SNY.tv by phone on Thursday. "We kind of have to get over this first. He had a lot of hopes and things he wanted to accomplish at Oregon this year, so obviously it's a big setback and a big disappointment for him."

McIntyre said Oregon coach Dana Altman has said "he'll support whatever Dylan wants to do" in terms of getting a waiver.

Oregon State?has chosen?Montana head coach Wayne Tinkle as its new head coach,?The Oregonian reported on Sunday.

The paper previously reported that?Oregon State athletic director Bob De Carolis told players?he plans to name a new coach Monday morning.

Tinkle went 158-91 at his alma mater, guiding the Grizzlies to three of the last five NCAA Tournaments. Oregon State hasn't been to the Big Dance since 1990.
