The San Francisco 49ers have the No.1 run defense in the NFL. It's no accident. They also have the best inside LB tandem in the league as well.

Patrick Willis is regarded by many (including this writer) as the best ILB in all of professional football. He broke into the league with both feet running and was named NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year in 2007. He has been going full throttle ever since.

2007 was a defining year for the New York Giants. They came away from the NFL Draft with eight players, all of whom would make the team and contribute to the Super Bowl run later that season.

But in reviewing that draft here in 2011, I can't help but catching myself on the glaring error the Giants may have made in the first round.
