Wide receiver Percy Harvin has a low-ankle sprain after his X-rays came back negative on Monday (ESPN, December 8).

Harvin was injured in the final two minutes of the fourth quarter of the Jets 30-24 loss against the Minnesota Vikings - arguably his best game since being traded from the Seattle Seahawks with five catches for 124 yards and a touchdown.

He was in a walking boot Monday after the good news that it wasn't a high-ankle sprain, which usually takes several weeks of recovery.

Don't blame Percy Harvin for trying to take a third-quarter kickoff out from deep inside the Jets end zone Sunday. Like most everything else the Jets tried, it was part of a plan that went horribly wrong (ESPN, Oct. 26).

As the Jets set up to receive the kickoff after a Buffalo field goal midway through the quarter made it 27-17, T.J. Graham laid on his belly, trying to confuse the Bills.

Buffalo figured out something was up and didn't ignore Graham. Harvin realized too late he couldn't throw it to Graham as planned and only made it to the Jets 3 for a 12-yard return.

The Seattle Seahawks were so desperate to rid themselves of Percy Harvin they were prepared to release him outright before trading him to the Jets, according to an ESPN report (ESPN, Oct. 19).

ESPN also reported that Seattle general manager manager John Schneider was "fully forthcoming and transparent" about Harvin's widely reported issues with teams they contacted about possible trades.

The New York Post reported Seattle will get a sixth-round pick at a minimum in the deal and a fourth-rounder if Harvin is on the Jets roster in 2015 (Post, Oct. 18).

Percy Harvin's departure from Seattle was preceded by several conflicts with teammates and coaches, culuminating with his refusal to return to the field in the Seahawks' loss to the Cowboys last Sunday (Pro Football Talk, Oct. 18).

The Jets acquired Harvin for a conditional draft pick Friday.

Pro Football Talk reported Harvin, 26, sat out the fourth quarter against Dallas after having three carries for minus-1 yards and three catches. Earlier this season, the Seattle Times reported Harvin and wide receiver Doug Baldwin fought the week before the Seahawks preseason game against the Raiders. The New York Daily News reported both players were excused from practice that week and Harvin didn't travel with the team to Oakland (Daily News, Oct. 18).

Percy Harvin will "definitely" miss tonight's game as a result of his chronic migraines, according to NFL.com's Steve Wyche.

Poor guy...migraines are not fun.

This is definitely good news for the Giants' defense, as Harvin is one of the most explosive players in the league.
