It's supposed to be in the mid-90's in NYC today and no one is doing too much moving around. So let's have some fun. Caption the below photos for us in the comment section...

Our man at capitalnewyork.com, Greg Hanlon sent us another great feature this week. This time Greg cross-examines Phil Simms, who will be providing the color for this Sunday's Super Bowl. Here's a snippet of the much-larger article:

?I?m not the type of guy that?s looking forward to sitting on the beach,? he told me on the phone two weeks ago.

Simms has been the lead analyst for CBS football games since 1998. Sunday?s Super Bowl, between the Baltimore Ravens and San Francisco 49ers, will be his seventh as an announcer.

Colin Kaepernick wasn't the 49ers' starting quarterback on opening day, but now he's engineered his team to the biggest stage in professional sports.

Kaepernick was named the team's starter after incumbent Alex Smith was concussed halfway through the season. In his first career start, the second-year signal-caller out of Nevada rejuvenated the Niners' offense, and the former second-round selection played well enough to earn the starting job.

And it's a story that's all too familiar.

When the Giants traded up to get Eli Manning with the No. 1 overall pick in 2004, New York was abuzz that Peyton Manning?s younger brother would be taking snaps for Big Blue.

Even if Eli never shaped up to be as good as Peyton, he was still a Manning and has a bright future ahead of him.

Eli started his career backing up Kurt Warner, who led the Giants to a 5-4 record in 2004. However, the organization felt it was the right time for Manning to take over.

Besides the three passing touchdowns, Eli Manning had a rather average game. He threw for 249 yards on 16-of-30 passing.

But his efficiency in the Giants? 38-10 blowout win over the Packers was what led the Giants to victory.

On third and fourth down plays, Manning was 7-of-9, and all three of his touchdown passes came on third downs. Manning had been 0-3 against the Packers in the regular season before this win.

Phil Simms got himself in hot water with Giant fans earlier this week by making a statement that current Giants QB Eli Manning is not an elite NFL quarterback.

Today, he reaffirmed his stance on WFAN with Boomer and Carton this morning on the air.

?I can say with all honesty, as it was coming out of my mouth I went, ?Oh boy, this will really create some controversy...But I still said it. You know, I could have ? like I?ve done ? could have said ?You know, let?s redo that,? because at that time we were taping a little segment. But I do stand by how I meant it.?

By now, you know the story. Two Augusts ago, Eli Manning told ESPN Radio in New York he believed he was an elite quarterback, in the same class as Tom-freaking-Brady.

When all of the naysayers laughed and made jokes at his expense, what did Manning do -- he went out and led the Giants' Super Bowl charge. Poetically, he had to beat Tom Brady's Patriots twice in the process.

When it was all said and done, Manning was unanimously proclaimed elite by broadcasters, players and analysts alike. Suddenly, that joke back in August wasn't so funny.

In light of the recent contract talks between the New York Giants and wide receiver Victor Cruz, former quarterback and CBS NFL analyst Phil Simms made his point about the importance of Cruz to the offense.

?I give Eli Manning credit, of course, he?s great, but Victor Cruz ? he?s making Eli a bigger star and there?s no doubt about it,? Simms said. ?He?s everything. He really truly is everything. He?s quick. He?s fast. He?s strong. He has tremendous hands and a great feel of how to play the game.

?There?s great talent at that position in the league, but I?m not sure anybody?s better.?Cruz, the pre-season standout turned salsa-dancing star, broke out last season in his first shot as a starter. Cruz totaled 82 catches for 1,500 yards and 9 TD.

Former Giants pass-rush?aficionado Lawrence Taylor made an appearance on Showtime's "Inside the NFL" last night, where he participated in a segment called "Dear Insiders."

When asked about how Tim Tebow could succeed in the NFL, he said some ... off-centered advice.

"I would say he would have to go to church, Temple -- wherever he goes -- find a nice girl," said Taylor, who added some more colorful language. "I mean marry her if he has to ... but he's got to get some of that pressure off."
Former Giants QB Phil Simms and Cris Collinsworth laughed at Taylor's remarks. Simms added:

Giants quarterback?Eli Manning?leads the league with 723 passing yards, including a career-high 510 yards in Week 2. When the Giants face the Carolina Panthers on?Thursday Night Football, Manning can become the eighth player in NFL history with back-to-back 400-yard passing games.

?With 400 passing yards Thursday, Manning could also become the second player in NFL history to follow a 500-yard passing performance with a 400-yard game (Tom Brady, 517 yards in Week 1, 2011; 423 yards in Week 2, 2011).

Should Eli go off Thursday, he'll have to do it without Hakeem Nicks, who is out with a sore foot.

This Sunday at theMeadowlands Exposition Center in Secaucus, NJ, approximately 60 Giants players and coaches will commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Giants Super Bowl XXI championship team.

The coach of that team, of course, was the now legendary Bill Parcells, who spoke with Giants play-by-play man Bob Papa and select Giants season ticket holders today via conference call.

Parcells was a defensive coach his whole career and rarely got involved in the offensive game plan. He didn't have to. He had Phil Simms, another Giants legend, at the helm.

Plaxico Burress' agent, Drew Rosenhaus, is claiming his client will be on an NFL roster this coming season.

Rosenhaus appeared on Showtime's Inside the NFL yesterday, telling both Cris Collinsworth and Phil Simms he believed Burress would be on an NFL roster come the 2011 season.

"I am not afraid to make the following prediction - Plaxico Burress will be playing in 2011. And he will play very well. And it will be a very happy ending to a very tough, tough story for him." (Michael McCarthy USA Today)
Both Simms and Collinsworth agreed that Burress could play this year, but has some reservations.? Collinsworth brought up the rust issue, airing concerns of whether Burress would be able to re-acclimate to the NFL after missing nearly three years.
