Last night, the Nets got a major monkey off their back, as they beat the Chicago Bulls?in?one of the best all-around games they've played all season.

Things looked pretty perilous before the game when the Nets ruled out Kevin Garnett due to back spasms, but Jason Kidd drew up an excellent game-plan against Joakim Noah on both ends of the court, and Brooklyn kept the Bulls' big man in check.

Starting in KG's place was rookie Mason Plumlee.?He didn't particularly light up the stat sheet, (3-of-3 from the field, four rebounds) but he played extremely well against Noah, getting the better of the All-Star on multiple occasions, including this one.

In the wake of Brook Lopez's season-ending injury, the Nets' big men need to elevate their game for Brooklyn to weather this perfect storm.

Scoring: D

Since Lopez went down, Kevin Garnett has been installed as the starting center, with Andray Blatche and Mason Plumlee backing him up, primarily. KG has struggled offensively in general this season, averaging 6.7 points per game on 37.2% shooting from the field, both career-lows by far. Additionally, in the past two games starting at center, Garnett has really struggled, shooting just 5-of-17 (29.4%) from the field. All in all, Garnett has posted just a 98.7 Offensive Rating (team points per 100 possessions with him on the court) this year, and a 93.5 Offensive Rating over the last two games.

Second year players, Tornike Shengelia and Tyshawn Taylor?looked to cement themselves in the minds of the new Nets coaching staff as contributors next year with solid play, although they did not do themselves any favors by playing as poorly as they have since they joined the Nets.
