GEICO SportsNite: Knicks lose 00:02:07
Michelle Yu reports on the Knicks' lazy effort in their loss to Portland despite the presence of a returning Kristaps Porzingis.

Damian Lillard scored 32 points and the Portland Trail Blazers wrapped up a strong five-game road trip with their third straight victory, beating the New York Knicks 103-91 on Monday night.

Pat Connaughton added 17 for the Trail Blazers, who also won at Memphis, Brooklyn and Washington while losing only in Philadelphia. They needed to come from 17 down in the fourth quarter to beat the Wizards last time out but were in charge of this one most of the way.

Kristaps Porzingis returned from a one-game absence and scored 22 points, but the Knicks were without starting center Enes Kanter for a third straight game because of back spasms. They lost all three, falling back to .500 at 10-10.

Knicks forwards Joakim Noah and Kristaps Porzingis will be active, while forward Enes Kanter will be inactive for Monday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers, head coach Jeff Hornacek told reporters before the game.

Noah will make his season debut Monday after missing the first 12 games of the season due to a suspension stemming from last season and being a healthy scratch for the Knicks' seven other games.

The New York Knicks are a starkly different team at home, and their last two road games highlighted the disparities.

After two road losses, the Knicks return home to oppose the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night.

For various reasons, the Portland Trail Blazers and Brooklyn Nets were doomed by one bad quarter Wednesday.

In Philadelphia, Portland could never recover after an extremely slow start. In Cleveland, Brooklyn could not prevent LeBron James from taking over down the stretch.

The Trail Blazers and Nets will try to rebound from those tough stretches Friday afternoon when they get together at Barclays Center.

It has been reported that Carmelo Anthony no longer wants to play for the Knicks, and the Blazers believe the All-Star forward could play for them next season

Portland, which was supposed to act as a third or fourth team in a potential deal involving the Knicks and Rockets, now could possibly land Anthony, according to Trail Blazers guards Damian Lillard and C.J. McCollum

As much as the thought of Damian LillardC.J. McCollum, and Carmelo Anthony may sound enticing for the Blazers, it's hard to imagine a deal working out for a couple reasons.

While Kristaps Porzingis may benefit from playing alongside a bonafide star in Carmelo Anthony, the 21-year-old New York Knicks forward is further able to stand out on the court when he's playing with some of the team's role players off the bench.

The New York Knicks will attempt to achieve something they accomplished only six times last season when they host the Portland Trail Blazers Tuesday at Madison Square Garden.

The Knicks (6-7) will seek to get to .500, a mark they weren't able to reach after January 20 last season when they finished 32-50.

New York has won three of its last four games and is coming off an impressive 104-94 win over the Atlanta Hawks on Sunday in which forward Carmelo Anthony poured in a season-high 31 points. With the many additions, including a new backcourt of Derrick Rose and Courtney Lee and center Joakim Noah, Anthony remains the centerpiece of the team.

NEW YORK -- In the last week, the Brooklyn Nets have faced two elite point guards in the Western Conference.

Their meetings with Russell Westbrook in Oklahoma City and Chris Paul in Los Angeles did not go well.

On Sunday, the Nets return home and face another top point guard when they host Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.

After splitting their last four at home, the Nets embark on a season-high nine-game trip that runs through March 11. They've dropped six straight on road, are 4-19 as the visitor this season and have lost 16 of 19 in Portland.

The Nets will likely need a proficient offensive performance to end those struggles, as they've lost 21 straight when scoring under 100 points since a 94-91 win over Phoenix on Dec. 1. That streak was extended with Sunday's 104-96 defeat to Charlotte.

Brooklyn was able to trim a 15-point deficit to four with 4:42 left before the Hornets used a 9-0 run to pull away.

Tonight, the Nets continue their west coast road trip as they head to Portland to face the Trail Blazers, who have emerged as one of the better teams in NBA this season. The Blazers enter tonight fifth in the West at 39-18.

It will be the second and final meeting between the two teams, with Brooklyn looking to earn a season split after the Blazers won in Brooklyn back in November. The Nets are just 6-32 at Portland all-time, but they won their previous game there last March.

The Blazers are led offensively by LaMarcus Aldridge and Damian Lillard, who are eighth and 13th in the NBA, respectively, in points per game. Both average over 21 PPG, and Portland is the only team in the NBA with two scorers among the top 15.
