6PM: Alain Vigneault said before the game (NYR):
- On Marc Staal, (To Rangers PR) "any updates on Marc? No. I haven't asked."
- On rebounding after a loss, "I have a lot of faith in our group about responding from a game where we could have played better. There were parts of our game that I liked and other parts that could have been better. Tonight we are focused on Montreal. We have a plan and we will try and execute it. We know they are a real good team and will be focused and ready."
- On the starts, "our start was good last night. The first rotation of lines we spent in their end. We were generating tempo and momentum and a flip in the neutral zone led to a bounce and them to a flurry of opportunities. It was a little unfortunate but as far as our guys being ready to play and execute, they were ready but the other team found a way to score the first goal and then a PP goal. We worked hard and tried to come back in the game."
- On Buchnevich, "I didn't change my mind. Initially when we spoke with the docs when he went to Hartford it was supposed to be, for a period of time, not play back to back games. He responded real well when he was in Hartford, came back and last night after discussing with the doctors they felt that the fact that he only played 10-11 minutes and responded perfectly. At this point he is back to being a normal player and can play on back to back nights."
