LeBrun wonders if Weber wants to stay in Nashville long-term if Suter signs elsewhere and adds, "either Suter and Weber both sign extensions to stay in Nashville or they’re both gone this summer. There doesn’t seem to be any in-between, in my mind."
Adam Rotter: The timeline on this is very interesting. Suter can be a UFA on July 1, but many people think that Nashville will trade his rights if he is planning to test free agency. The draft is on the 22nd, so I don't know if we will have an answer by then of what Nashville is planning. How far after Suter leaving can Nashville hang on to Weber? Surely they will offer him a big contract as soon as they know Suter will be gone, and if Weber rejects it, do they then put him on the block? I would have to think that the Rangers and other teams will proceed as they normally would but adjust if Weber becomes available.
