He notes that Del Zotto's name has been circulating around the NHL.
When Lavoie sent out an English version of the tweet, he wrote "Michael Del Zotto will be a healthy scratch Saturday in MTL. Don't know if his future is in NY. Hearing trade is a possibility."
It was reported last week that Del Zotto could be had in a trade but the Rangers would require a defenseman who could play the same kind of minutes.
It was reported earlier in the month that Del Zotto was a name being tossed around as the Rangers looked for help.
Del Zotto is an RFA at the end of the season.
Adam Rotter: It's hard to imagine that Del Zotto, who won't turn 24 until after the season and will be due a raise, will be with the Rangers next year. John Moore has passed him on the depth chart, both in the short-term and long-term plans, and while Del Zotto is "okay" he seems to have regressed a bit from being a definite top-four defenseman for the Rangers. If they decide to move on, I can see them trading Del Zotto for an equally inconsistent but high potential defenseman and try to see if a change of scenery works for both sides. That could happen in the off season as well with Del Zotto being traded for an RFA and both teams looking for fresh starts with new players.
