8:28AM: Bruce Garrioch, in the Ottawa Sun, writes that the Rangers are trying to clear cap space and that Del Zotto is available.
He says that the Senators, Oilers, Sharks and Hurricanes have interest in Del Zotto but that the Rangers are looking for a defensemen in return.
8:15AM: In the NY Post, Larry Brooks writes that the Rangers won't/can't trade Michael Del Zotto unless they get a capable defensemen who can replace his minutes.
He also notes how the Rangers tried to move Del Zotto to the right side to play him with Marc Staal and that the experiment has continued even though he is on the third pair with John Moore now.
Adam Rotter: When it comes to trading Del Zotto, if Glen Sather can get the right package, a defenseman and likely more, he will make the trade. I think though that Sather is really setting the table for an offseason trade of Del Zotto, probably at the draft, and trying to lock down which teams will have interest. It makes more sense to trade him in the offseason as the depth on defense is already limited.
7:43PM: On Hot Stove on Hockey Night in Canada, Elliotte Friedman said "I believe there was a conversation between the Senators and Rangers about Michael Del Zotto...I don't necessarily think that they are going anywhere."
