Andy Strickland writes at True Hockey though that it would take a "substantial" package to get Clowe out of San Jose and that teams are asking about players on San Jose more than the Sharks are offering them around.
He adds, "the Sharks need more Ryan Clowes, not less. If they don’t think they can re-sign him then it obviously increases the chances of him being traded."
Clowe currently has a cap hit of $3.6 million and is a UFA at the end of the season. Clowe, 30, has zero goals and eight assists in 22 games.
