Alain Vigneault said on Wednesday that he is expecting "quite a few players" to "elevate their game as the Rangers resume the regular season tonight against the Leafs.
the Rangers need to "play well as a group" and get a "couple of guys to elevate."
He noted that he knows that Henrik Lundqvist understands how important he moment in a game is and the Rangers need to "play well as a group" and get a "couple of guys to elevate."
Adam Rotter: Rick Nash got going on a pretty good streak before the break and JT Miller had a strong final game in San Jose. It has to be more than one game though for Miller and a number of players if the Rangers want to do anything more than be the inconsistent team they have been so far. Pavel Buchnevich has started to come on but needs to be consistent, Jimmy Vesey needs to do more offensively, even though he is on the fourth line, and the Rangers need to start seeing the offensive promise that Anthony DeAngelo has. This has been a middling year for the Rangers but if they start seeing real progress and consistency from some of these players that will answer a lot of questions moving forward.
