Against Detroit on Friday, Henrik Lundqvist made 40 saves to win his third straight start.
In those three starts Lundqvist has stopped 92 of 94 shots and stopped all 70 shots he has faced at even strength.
From the Rangers Game Notes, "in his last 10 appearances, Lundqvist has posted an 8-2-0 record, along with a 2.05 GAA, a .937 SV% (299 saves on 319 shots), and 1 SO."
On his recent stretch, Lundqvist said that in the last 3-4 weeks he has been playing the way he wants to play, "aggressive but still patient."
He added, "physically I feel great. People talk to me about starting a lot of games, but physically you never really get tired, it's mentally. Right now I'm in a nice flow where I don't overthink things so I feel rested. "
Lundqvist said that the team's recent success has made it easy for him to relax away from the rink and that "to me there is only one thing that makes me laugh a lot and that's winning."
