Henrik Lundqvist wore the Broadway Hat and spoke with John Giannone on MSG after the game:

  • "The key for us was, just like last game, not get hurt again after they scored their second. You could see how much confidence they gained and they gave us some trouble towards the end of the second period. Sitting here, going into the third, we are a confident group, we believe in each other and that we can raise our game when we really have to and we did. Guys had a lot of jump and came out and played a really strong third period and it won us the game."
  • On 400 wins, "I'm just really proud and thankful for the opportunity. This organization means so much to me and they gave me this opportunity to play a lot of hockey. It's been 12 years and I've been getting a lot of starts and I've had a lot of good teammates and you think back to them right now because they are part of this as well. I will enjoy this tonight and reflect a little bit before going back to work tomorrow."
  • On thinking about getting to this moment, "you don't think about it, the first year you just try to stay here. That last couple of minutes you hear the crowd and you get goosebumps, just like my first game here, when they chanted my name and that was 12 years ago. At times it feels surreal that you are in this moment and here and playing and at others you look at it like a job because you don't want to complicate it. It's a lot of fun, I've had so much fun here for so many years and when you win here, winning at MSG, the crowd is really into it and it's just the best feeling. That is why you go to work every morning and try to improve your game."
  • On the third period, "Our speed, we were more determined. We just looked more crisp and as the difference between two teams, when one has been winning and one team has been losing more, we believe that we can be a difference maker in the third, a lot of guys that can be that difference. A lot of it is confidence and being comfortable in that pressure, now the game will be decided and who will step up and make the big plays. We have a lot of those in this room and it's been helping us a lot this year."
