Following Saturday's loss to the Predators, Henrik Lundqvist was asked about where the Rangers are right now and said on MSG:
- "Overall it stinks, there is no question about it. We are losing too much and guys are out, but there is only one way to turn it around and you need to start with yourself, work really hard, and not look for excuses. There is no question it's a tough time but there is no point in looking around the room or trying to find excuses. We need to start with ourselves and see what we can bring to the table to make this team better."
Alain Vigneault said that the Rangers, in his estimation, have been playing some good hockey lately but not gotten the results to back that up.
He added that the results are what they are and that the Rangers need to regroup before tonight's game against Dallas.
Sports Club Stats has the Rangers with a 34.8% chance of making the playoffs.
Adam Rotter: Despite being only one game out of the playoffs, the Rangers are certainly not in a good spot right now. Injuries are mounting, turnovers remain a constant and Henrik hasn't been able to shut the door as much as he was earlier in the season. The PP, which struggled so much, has been good lately and the PK, which had been great for most of the season, has struggled. Still, even with all of that, the Rangers are only one small winning streak away from possibly being back in a playoff position.
