Lundqvist said after the game on MSG:
- On the third period offense, "I think experience, we have been here before, we play smart, we talked about not sitting back but then I think they over committed a couple of times and we exposed them and made them pay and a couple of huge plays in the third. They played really well for two periods and got a little anxious in the third and we took advantage of it."
- On the second period, "I felt good going into the third with the lead, it was that type of game, similar to last time in this building where we stayed cool and weathered the storm and then we come out in the third and play a smart period because we have been here before and we have confidence in this situation. They are such a good team that you never know and we had a pretty big lead and you start thinking about what is ahead and, I really did, and we had to regroup a bit because they got a couple of quick ones and you never know. It's a great feeling, Game 7 at home, it's just a great feeling."
- On being 15-3 in elimination games lately, "it will help a little but it's what we do on Friday that truly matters. How we manage the time until game time, preparation is so important, how do you feel and talking about the right things. When you are out there the game is so fast and you need to know what is going on and if you look at the record, it's a good sign that the team is showing up for big games and willing to work really hard and for me personally, my game is all about focus because I am not the biggest guy or the fastest guy but it comes down to good decisions and sometimes that helps to be in the right place."
