Henrik Lundqvist played both weekend games for the Rangers, stopping 36 of 40 shots on Friday and 26 of 28 shots on Saturday.
Over his last eight appearances, he has posted a 6-1-0 record, along with a 2.04 GAA, a .936 SV%, and 1 SO. (NYR Game Notes)
Lundqvist was asked if he would like to play in every game and said that if it were up to him the answer would be "yes."
He said that overall the Rangers take things day by day and that right now he feels "really good."
Lundqvist added, "I had a couple days off during the week so I feel good, I feel fresh. I feel ready to go."
Adam Rotter: The schedule has certainly worked in Henrik's favor so far this season and he has been able to get rest, get some practice time and perform at a pretty consistent high level. With four games this week and a strange back to back on Friday at 7PM and Saturday at 5PM, Ondrej Pavelec will get at least one start. It's hard to go with anyone but Henrik when he is playing well but the Rangers need to know for sure what they have in Pavelec. That said, if the Rangers can play more games like they did last night, and spend much of the game in the offensive zone and keep it moderately easy, then Henrik probably can play every game. More than likely though we will start seeing more from Pavelec beginning this week.
