Alain Vigneault said of Namestnikov's performance,"he had some real good looks, made some good plays with the puck and that is what we expected from him. Skilled player and he has to show his skill."
Namestnikov said that he didn't really have legs in the first period but he started feeling better as the game went on. (NYR)
Namestnikov spoke with John Giannone before the game and said he "wants to play the right way, a two-way forward and get things done defensively and then take it offensively."
Henrik Lundqvist said after the game on Namestnikov, "he made a similar move in warmups. He's a skill guy, I'm excited to see what he can do for the team moving forward. I think overall we have a lot of skill, we just need to make sure when to use it and when to be smart and when to go for it and make the simple play. That is about playing minutes and understanding the flow of the game and not getting hurt."
