Jesper Fast has signed a three-year deal with the Rangers that has a cap hit of $1.85 million.
Fast said last week that he is happy to remain with the Rangers after not being selected by Vegas in the expansion draft.
Jeff Gorton had said recently that he was hoping to have Fast locked up soon.
For the second straight season Fast was the winner of the Rangers Players' Player Award.

Adam Rotter: This is a pretty fair deal for both sides. Fast gets a nice raise and the Rangers get some term on a valuable bottom-six skater and penalty killer. We've seen over the past few years that Alain Vigneault has a lot of trust in Fast in all situations and will even move him up in the lineup when needed. The thing, to me, that shows how valuable Fast is that his teammates voted him the past two years as the player who "best exemplifies what it means to be a team player." It seems like a pretty fair deal for someone who will net 20-30 points, played 13-15 minutes a night and start nearly 60% of his shifts in the defensive zone.
