Jimmy Vesey has 2 goals and 1 assist through 14 games this season with 26 shots on goal and 45 shot attempts in 14:13 per game.
In his first 14 games last season, Vesey had 6 goals and 4 assists and 24 shots on goal in 14:43 per game.
Through the rest of last season, Vesey had 10 goals and 7 assists, a minus 18 rating, 92 shots and 13:24 per game.
He has 6 shots on goal in the past two games, 5 on Tuesday against Vegas, including a goal, and 1 on Thursday against Tampa Bay.
Vesey has 18 hits this season after only throwing 64 hits in the regular season last year. He did have 18 hits in 12 playoff games last season.
He said that he sees himself as a power forward and that he plans to keep the physical element in his game. (NY Post)
Alain Vigneault said that being physical is part of Vesey's repertoire and "that is part of his repertoire. He has to bring that, if he doesn't then he isn't the player that he can be. He's a good skater, power forward, he needs to play the body and play the man.
Adam Rotter: Vesey has had a few moments here and there but has been much more noticeable with and without the puck since only getting 7:32 of ice time last Saturday against Montreal. He's been skating mostly with David Desharnais and JT Miller, after his solid run with Kevin Hayes and Jesper Fast ended, and has looked much more like the player he was in the playoffs than the player he was through most of the first part of the year. Hopefully this is a good sign for Vesey and that his game is tending in the right way.
