The Buffalo Sabres acquired the rights to Jimmy Vesey from Nashville for a third round pick on June 20th.
At the time Sabres GM Tim Murray called it a gamble and said that Vesey has top-six potential, is a "complete forward" who is big, strong, can shoot the puck, make plays and has a "great hockey IQ." (Buffalo Hockey Beat)
Tonight will be Vesey's first time in Buffalo since deciding not to sign with the Sabres and instead sign with the Rangers.
Larry Brooks wonders if Vesey will be booed by the Buffalo crowd in the same way that Chris Drury was after he signed with the Rangers. (NY Post)

Eichel added, "he made a decision and obviously he's happy with that one. Can't blame a guy for that." (Buffalo News)
Sabres coach Dan Bylsma said that he wants to have "ill feelings" about Vesey but he can't. He noted that he coached Vesey at the World Championships and that Vesey has proven that he can step into the NHL and be a goal scorer. (Buffalo News)
Bylsma said Vesey is playing as he expected that he could and added "now it's on the other side and we have to deal him." (Buffalo News)
