Jimmy Vesey scored two goals last night, doubling his season total to four through 17 games.
Vesey said after last night's game that he considers himself to be a goal scorer and hopes that the two "greasy" goals he scored will get him going.
He added that he is trying to consistently play with good habits such as finishing his checks and stopping in front of the net and looking for the puck.
Vesey is averaging 14:03 per game but has thrice, this season, played fewer than 10 minutes.
Alain Vigneault was asked about Vesey's prior to Wednesday's game and said that he has had some good games and he has had other games where other players were better with and without the puck.
He added, "I believe he can be better. He is still a very young player, second year into the league, there is a lot of potential and upside there and I believe he has a great attitude and work ethic."

He added that down the line in his career he may be able to play a bigger role because of some of the lessons he is learning right now." (NY Post)
Following last night's game, Vigneault said that while Vesey may have struggled to finish, he had been working really hard and was making "strong plays" even before he scored.
He added, "there is more than just finishing, there is the 200ft game and tonight, positive thing and confidence builder for him is that he was able to finish on a couple of goals and he went to the tough areas. That is definitely, as far as finishing and contributing, that is real positive."
Adam Rotter: It's going to be up and down with Vesey for a bit in the same way that it was up and down with Chris Kreider, Kevin Hayes and JT Miller at different times. Vesey came in with all of this hype but that doesn't mean he doesn't get to avoid the adjustment period. I expected a lot from of Vesey this year, and still do, but right now Pavel Buchnevich is fitting into that role. Vesey is still finding his place in the lineup but if he hangs around the net and finds ways to contribute offensively he won't sit on the bench as much in the third period.
