1/13/17 | Vigneault said on Friday, "he is coming along, a young player that our management and scouts spoke very highly of but as with any young player you are hoping that what you are seeing in the leagues that they are playing in, that they can bring that to the NHL and Jimmy has done that. He has come in and very mature, extremely hard worker, he wants to learn, very easy to coach and getting an opportunity at this level and has been able to contribute 5 on 5 and PP and we are very happy with his progression."

Alain Vigneault said last Monday that Vesey is a very strong minded person who is focused on taking care of himself on and off the ice.
Vigneault said that he didn't see the issue of Vesey playing more games this season than in the past and said "I have felt that he has looked real good and I expect it to continue. I think he is mentally focused and mentally strong."
Adam Rotter: Vesey is having the kind of season that I expected he would as a rookie. He's had some hot moments, he's had some cold moments but overall I think he's been pretty solid. I'd expect him to be stronger in the second half and find himself in a simpler role when the Rangers get healthy up front.
