JT Miller had two goals, 3 shots on goal, 1 shot attempt blocked and 1 hit in 16:40.
Miller has 3 goals in the past two games, he scored an empty netter on Thursday, after only scoring once in the 17 games prior to Thursday.
Miller played 6:15 in the first, 5:17 in the second and 5:08 in the third with goals, including the game winner, in the second and the third.
Alain Vigneault said this past week that Miller needed to be better with the puck and said last night that Miller played a "much higher percentage game" and that "trustworthy" is the word that comes to mind in the past two games.
Vigneault said that the Rangers had been telling Miller to shoot the puck more and likened his first goal to one similar to Guy Lafleur just coming down the wing and "woofing it."
He added, "It was good for him and he has to continue to play that way."
Miller said after the game that the puck hadn't been going in for him for a month or so but scoring twice doesn't necessarily mean that you had a good game.
Miller said that it's good to see the puck go in but that "it's just a big two points."
Miller said that he is confident that he can make high percentage plays. (NY Post)
Adam Rotter: Miller has an excellent shot and showed it off on both of his goals last night but, like many of his teammates, he tends to be a pass first type of game. Alain Vigneault wants Miller to make better decisions with the puck and in the offensive zone that likely means putting it towards the net rather than looking for another pass.
