Keith Yandle said that he didn't have any discussions with the Rangers about a new contract but said that he understands how the business of hockey works.
Yandle said that he and his team knew that the Rangers would have to move out money and that he expected to go to July 1. (NY Post)

About the Rangers, Yandle added, "they knew they couldn't do anything, and it was in their best interest to go out and get something for me." (Newsday)
On Saturday, Jeff Gorton said "we lost Yandle who was a real good player for us, terrific guy. It's a big hit and we are looking to see where we can go from there and how to get better whether it's on defense or at forward."
