Keith Yandle played a season high of 23:33 last night against the Canucks, had an assist, 0 shots on goal, 3 giveaways and one blocked shot.
Prior to last night's game, Alain Vigneault said that Yandle is one of the Rangers top-six defensemen and that when he is on his game and moving the puck "he is a very good player."
Vigneault added, "I'd like him to be a Ranger and help us win."
Following Tuesday's game, Vigneault said that Yandle's game against the Capitals was not "too his liking" and that it was expected he would have a "big bounce back game."
Vigneault said that Yandle did bounce back and "he was real solid with the puck, he beat their forecheck anytime they tried to establish it. It enabled us to come out of the zone clean and that is what we need from him on a nightly basis."
Since the Christmas break, Yandle has been on the ice for 157 shot attempts for and 134 shot attempts against at even strength and 9 goals for and 8 against at even strength. He is starting 74% of his even strength shifts in the offensive zone in that time. (Natural Stat Trick)
