Kevin Hayes has three goals and 2 assists this season with 16 shots on goal and an average of 16:34 per game.
Alain Vigneault said recently that Hayes has room for improvement at both ends and that he is being counted on to be a 200ft player.
He added that Hayes is learning and that "we are showing faith in him and I am very confident that the faith hand trust we are showing in him will pay off."
Hayes has goals in back to back games and 3 points in the previous two games.
Vigneault said after Saturday's game that Hayes has gotten "big goals" in the last few games and definitely wants that to continue.
He has 6 shots in the past two games after only putting up 10 in the prior 7 games.
Hayes is at 48.6% on faceoffs so far this season and was named the number one star of Saturday's win.
Adam Rotter: Hayes has definitely found his game while playing with Jesper Fast and Jimmy Vesey. He struggled over the first few games, as many Rangers did, but has really started to play well and produce at the level the Rangers need him to. Hayes would appear to be centering a checking line, but similarly to his success with JT Miller and Michael Grabner last season, his line with Fast and Vesey has skill speed and some pushback physically. Right now things are working for Hayes and he and the Rangers have to hope things stay that way.
