Kevin Klein, who has been out since 2/21 with a back injury is ready to return and will play soon for the Rangers, Alain Vigneault said on Friday. (Zipay)
Vigneault said that he did not want two recently injured defensemen return in the same game. (NYR)
He said that he didn't know which game Klein would return in but did say "at some point in the next three games he is going to play.
This season Klein has 3 goals, 11 assists, a plus 9 rating, an average of 17:26 per game, 127 hits, 112 blocked shots, 12 takeaways and 32 giveaways.
Klein has played in 54 games this season and is averaging nearly 3 fewer minutes per game compared to his 20:23 in 69 games last season.
Adam Rotter: Pending another injury on defense, the decision on who comes out so that Klein can play will certainly be an interesting one. I don't think it will be Brendan Smith or Brady Skjei which leaves Dan Girardi and Nick Holden. Holden could be an interesting player to give a night off to since his game has slipped a bit from where it was. I think it's possible t hat Girardi and Klein could split the back to back but ultimately I think Girardi has a pretty safe spot in the Rangers lineup.
