3:25PM: Vigneault spoke about Shattenkirk on Thursday and said, "everything we heard about him from St. Louis and his short time in Washington had been extremely positive about him being a team first guy and I think he has proven that in coming here. Less money, still a lot of money, but less term and money, comes to his hometown team and he wants to be counted on. He wants to be the guy and that says a lot about his mental makeup. I Know he will be a little nervous at the beginning but good excitement, good nerves, our whole group will be that way and we are really looking forward to puck drop tonight."

Alain Vigneault said on Wednesday that Shattenkirk has "made it clear" that he will be nervous but that after getting the "jitters" out in his first couple of shifts he should be fine.
