10/26/17 | 4:31PM: Bereglazov could return to Russia in November. (Belousov)
He reportedly does not want to miss out on the chance to play in the Olympics if he is not playing in the NHL. (Kalnins)
Bereglazov has a European out clause in his contract after being sent to Hartford.
He said over the summer that he was following his dream to play in the NHL.
Adam Rotter: From his point of view this makes a good amount of sense. He can return to the KHL, likely play in the Olympics and then depending on what kind of contract he signs in the KHL, can return to the NHL next season or thereafter. He is only 23 and this is something that I am sure the Rangers were prepared for. He only played once in the preseason and seemed to be pretty low on the defensive depth chart for this season. It's possible that if he stays around he could end up getting called up by the Rangers at some point but that probably isn't enough of a reason to stay when he has the possible once in a career chance at playing in the Olympics.
