Here to sing "The Star-Spangled Banner" the one and only, John Amirante. pic.twitter.com/N0qmCHAIKX
Amirante has sung the National Anthem at MSG sporadically over the last few years after being the primary anthem singer for the Rangers since 1980. (Newsday)
Adam Rotter: For a long time, as players and coaches changed and even as the jerseys the Rangers wore at MSG switched up, one constant always seemed to be Amirante. He was a big part of the experience of going to MSG and while the Rangers have had some excellent anthem singers, especially the members of the NYPD, Amirante will always be the guy to me. I'm sure the Rangers will honor him on Opening Night next season and maybe even use his recordings before big games like other teams do with previous anthem singers.
