Corey Pronman of The Athletic put together his top 10 list of members of the Rangers organization that are 23 and younger.
Filip Chytil (18) is ranked first on the list followed by Pavel Buchnevich (23), Vitali Kravtsov (18), Lias Andersson (19) and Igor Shesterkin (22). (The Athletic)
Pronman says that he thinks Buchnevich's best days are still ahead of him. (The Athletic)
He has Neal Pionk (23) ranked 6th, Brett Howden (20) 7th, K'Andre Miller (18) 8th, Tony DeAngelo (22) 9th and Libor Hajek (20) 10th. (The Athletic)
Pronman says that Pionk has "fantastic hockey sense" and competes hard while noting that DeAngelo has "high end skill" and creativity but he has questions about is ability to defend at the NHL level. (The Athletic)
Brady Skjei is 24 and Mika Zibanejad, Jimmy Vesey and Vlad Namestnikov are all 25.
Adam Rotter: It's an interesting list and a reminder that Pavel Buchnevich is still so young at 23 and could very much still be a huge part of the Rangers future. Tony DeAngelo as well but he needs to either improve a lot defensively or be such an offensive force that you can live with his defensive issues. Pionk showed in his time last year that he could be a reliable two-way player and if that continues then the Rangers will have another part of their defense settled. With the rest of the list, it's the familiar group of prospects that the Rangers hope will mix with the other players on the list to form the core David Quinn will be leading.
