The Ottawa Citizen called him their "STUD" of the game:
On the MSG postgame show yesterday, Stepan said, "I am getting more comfortable, I wouldn't say that I am comfortable but I am getting there and I have been having a lot of fun so it has been a good process."
Dan Girardi said on the MSG postgame show "Step is very calm with the puck and settles things down. He shows a lot of composure for a young guy."
He is on fire right now and has fit in perfectly with the rest of the GAS line. Even when he wasn't scoring, when playing with Gabby and Brad Richards, Step was still making plays and working hard. I really think we are seeing the beginnings of an all-star caliber player with Step. He is only 21, so I do think that it's possible that he could dip at some point this year, but he is showing what kind of player he can be and that he may be as big a part as any as the Rangers continue to grow as a team.
