Alain Vigneault said on Wednesday that Oscar Lindberg is likely to be a healthy scratch tonight against the Islanders, pending that Derick Brassard is able to play after not skating yesterday.
Lindberg was a healthy scratch against the Bruins on Monday when Chris Kreider returned to the Rangers lineup.
He said that the season has it's ups and downs and that he is just working on trying to bring a consistent level of play to his game. (NY Post)
Lindberg said that you never want to sit out but that it happens sometimes when players come back from injuries. He said that he tries to stay positive, practice hard and then get an opportunity to play. (NY Post)
He has 3 points in his last 15 games.
Adam Rotter: Lindberg is the odd-man out right now but it's understandable that he stay in the press box after a win. Lindberg isn't the scorer he was at the start of the season and his level of production should fall somewhere in the middle of what it was then and what it is now. He is a solid player for the Rangers and will more than likely be a regular in the Rangers lineup as the season goes on.
