Monday night against Carolina, Pavel Buchnevich had his first three-assist game in the Rangers win.
All three of Buchnevich's assists were primary assists.
On the season, Buchnevich had 13 goals and 19 assists in his first 49 games but only has 1 goal and 6 assists in the last 13 games.
He had 20 points in the first 25 games this season.
In 6 games in March, Buchnevich has 1 goal, 4 assists, 8 shots on goal and an average of 16:06 per game, his highest of the season.
Last week, Vigneault said of Buchnevich that he hadn't been generating as much as he can but that, "he is a talented young man and trying to put his game together. It's the NHL, the best league, every player goes through some up and downs and we think that Buch has a high skill level and we are working with him to put it all together."
Adam Rotter: Buchnevich turns 23 a few weeks after the season ends and while he has been inconsistent and frustrating at times, I think he has shown growth from his first year to his second year. There is certainly another level or two for him to go and it will be on him to use these games, maybe the World Championships and the offseason to get there for next season. He's still on his entry-level deal for another season, so he's not going anywhere, and he can a huge part of the Rangers as they move forward.
