In his first season in North America, Pavel Buchnevich has 6 goals and 8 assists in 17 games.
Buchnevich is averaging 15:07 per game this season and has said that he only has positive things to say about working with Alain Vigneault and that the Rangers coach communicates well with young players. (NHL.RU)
He added that Vigneault gives his players a lot of freedom to make plays with the puck offensively whereas in Russia there is a lot of dump and chase. (NHL.RU)
Mika Zibanejad said that it's good that Buchnevich doesn't have another Russian on the team because it forces him to speak English and work with more of his teammates. (NY Times)
Brady Skjei said that Buchnevich has come "a long way" and continues to get "better and better." (NY Times)
Adam Rotter: I've been impressed with Buchnevich when he's been healthy and he certainly looks comfortable for guy who is learning a new language, playing on another continent and has also played fewer than 20 games. You can see his potential pretty much every time he has the puck and that makes for a very exciting future for the Rangers but also a pretty good present.
