Pavel Buchenvich said that he wants to play this season without injuries and that staying healthy is his only focus. (Championat)
Last season Buchnevich played in 41 games for the Rangers but missed 5 games with back spasms early in the year and then 26 with another back issue during the season.
Buchnevich was also a healthy scratch 7 times during the season and played in 5 of the Rangers 12 playoff games.
In his three full seasons in the KHL, Buchnevich played in 158 of 180 regular season games.
Buchnevich averaged .49 PPG this season and played 13:16 per game.
Adam Rotter: Health is obviously the key with most any player but with Buchnevich it's the difference between having a potential elite talent in the lineup vs not having one. He has skills and ability that few others on the Rangers have and definitely has top-six potential if he is healthy and can find a consistent spot. Hopefully a year in the NHL and working with the Rangers has put the issues from last year in the rear view mirror and he can work towards making himself a core part of the team.
