10/12/17 | On Buchenvich, Alain Vigneault said on Thursday, "there is no doubt, he came to camp better prepared. Because he was better prepared it shows, he is getting some good looks. That line has had some real good moments and that the chemistry will continue. He's still got a lot of room for improvement and with that skill set, he can be a real solid player and he is trying to get better and we are trying to get him better."
10/7/17 | On Thursday, Pavel Buchnevich had an assist, was a minus two, and had 7 shot attempts (4 on goal, 3 that were blocked).
Buchnevich had tow. giveaways in his 18:22, 7:17 of which was on the PP with the remaining 11:05 coming at even strength.
He skated on a line with Chris Kreider and Mika Zibanejad and played 6:50 in the first, 3:58 in the second and 7:34 in the third.
Following the game on Thursday, Alain Vigneault said that the whole line played well, Buchnevich had some good looks and that "it was a real good first game for him."
Buchnevich said that he is healthy and that he was never 100% last season. He added that he worked hard during the summer and is feeling healthy. (NY Post)

On Friday, Vigneault said that Buchnevich played a strong game against Colorado. protected the puck well and made plays at both even strength and on the PP.
Vigneault added that Buchnevich handles the puck well, always has his head up and that when his skill set is "combined with the right work ethic and attitude and will power on the ice, should be able to make things happen. It was one game but a very positive game."
