Zuccarello is entering the final-year of a four-year deal that has a cap hit of $4.5 million.
He has said that he wants to be part of the Rangers as they rebuild.
At the end of last season, Zuccarello said that he has to be a leader and give 100% every night.
It's been rumored that Zuccarello could be someone that the Rangers move at this year's trade deadline.
Zuccarello scored 16 goals and 37 assists last season, a drop from .74 PPG to .66 PPG.
Adam Rotter: I wouldn't be surprised if the Rangers extended Zuccarello at some point this season. He fits with this team as a hard working veteran and someone who still wants to be with the Rangers. He can still play a role on this team, for the next year or two, as the young players develop. Of all the veterans that the Rangers could still move, I think Zuccarello, along with Henrik Lundqvist, could be one that bridges the gap from one successful group of Rangers to another.
