Last night Brad Richards scored a goal and added an assist to break a five game pointless streak.
In the post game show on MSG, John Tortorella said that when Richards gets into a rut, it is usually because he has been over thinking things:
"He certainly wants to do more. I think he adds a lot of pressure on himself and it binds him up a little bit. He did some good things tonight. With Richie it's tough because he is really hard on himself and he is a thinker."reminds me of another center that the Rangers have on the roster, but Richards seems to be able to snap out of his little streaks at a much quicker pace than Erik Christensen does. There is a lot of expected of Richards because he was talked about for so long and signed a nine-year deal, but all he has to do is play his game. His game will help the Rangers win and he really doesn't need to do anything more than that.
