Brad Richards told Larry Brooks of the NY Post that the trip wasn't ideal to start the season because the team only had two practices on NHL ice.
"We're not in a panic mode but we need to have a great week of practice and get to work on our game and our structure. I know myself, there are still some things I'm trying to figure out about our neutral zone and our power play so that we're clicking on the same page.Steve Zipay writes at Blue Notes that the team should play more preseason games in North America and not in Europe in the future.
"We'll finally get some time to get to work."
The Rangers are planning to open the next two seasons in Europe as well.
It was a learning experience for the team and I am sure that they brought a lot of good will to Europe and made a bunch of people Ranger fans. Next year they should do what the Kings and LA did and practice and play games in the area and go to Europe later. They should avoid playing the Flyers, and likely the Isles, but the Devils, Bruins, Capitals can all be played. Maybe they play the Bruins up in Boston and in Hartford as well.
