He played 17:59, took two shots and won nine faceoffs while only losing four.
Steve Zipay writes in Newsday about how Prospal fills a big role for the Rangers as Brandon Dubinsky continues his hold out.
"Prospal played really well tonight, his playmaking ability shows," said Tortorella, who has had his share of run-ins with the 34-year-old. "A lot of people criticize his skating, but he's a deceptive skater, he's a competitor. Vinny has always come in shape. For some reason there's a knock on him, but he's always been one of the top-conditioned players in my camps. And a lot of things have been going on around him in the last little while; he just bought a house in Tampa, now he's finding schools for his kids."Prospal was signed for one year at $1.1 million.
....As of right now, Prospal looks like he will center Marian Gaborik and probably either Ryan Callahan or Sean Avery. Even if Brandon Dubinsky signs, at this point, Prospal should probably still start the season centering Gaborik since he has been in camp and will have the better chance to work with Gaborik.
