Brian Boyle said that it's in the past but he has the "utmost" respect for the Rangers. (Newsday)
11/15/14 | 9:30AM: On Monday night when the Tampa Bay Lightning come to Madison Square Garden, Ryan Callahan, Brian Boyle and Anton Stralman will all play their first games against the Rangers since they left the team.
Stralman and Boyle left as free agents while Callahan was traded at the trade deadline last year for Marty St. Louis.
Asked about those three players returning to MSG, Alain Vigneault said on Friday "I am very happy for all three of them. Cally was my first captain here and he was very good to our team and myself. Anton and Brian Boyle had major roles on our team. I am happy that they are doing well and playing on one of the best teams in our conference. Once we get to that game, because we will focus on Pittsburgh first, we will focus on them."
Adam Rotter: It will be interesting and reminds me a bit of that first game against Columbus where you heard the names of Dubinsky and Anisimov but they were in different jerseys and going the other way. Ryan Callahan meant a ton to the Rangers in his time here and I think he is deserving of some kind of video or acknowledgement. Stralman and Boyle were important but secondary players on the Rangers in their time. Callahan wore the "C" and put his body on the line every nigh to help the Rangers win.
