2:14PM: In the NY Post, Larry Brooks writes that if Dan Bylsma is relieved of his coaching duties by the Penguins he will jump to the top of the list of candidates for their head coaching position.
The Rangers would need permission from the Penguins to speak to Bylsma since he is under contract through next season.
Brooks writes that Bylsma is known as a creative communicator and is used to having the spotlight on him since he coaches Sidney Crosby.
9:31AM: On TSN Radio last night, Darren Dreger said that he doesn't think Penguins coach Dan Bylsma will lose his job if the Penguins lose tonight and are swept or end up losing in five games.
Dreger said that he feels Bylsma has earned enough respect to keep his job, but that he would be "on the clock."
This morning, Dreger tweeted that the "mere suggestion" that Bylsma could be fired has teams that are looking for a coach paying close attention.
In the Ottawa Sun, Bruce Garrioch writes that Bylsma may be the one who takes the fall for the Penguins not meeting expectations with the team assembled for him.
He says that some people are starting to question Bylsma and how he coaches in the playoffs. Bylsma said yesterday that he doesn't feel he is coaching for his job and that he is only focused on winning hockey games.
