Larry Brooks writes in the NY Post that the top candidates for those two spots are Arron Asham, Darroll Powe, Marek Hrivik, JT Miller and Chris Kreider.
Brooks says that Miller's "tenacious" play seems to have earned him a spot and that at this point it would be "stunning" if Miller doesn't make the team.
Miller told the Daily News that he knew he wasn't a lock for the roster and that his focus was on earning his way onto the roster.
Brooks says that Chris Kreider seems like a long-shot, even after improving his game on Friday night. Kreider told Brooks that he spoke with the staff earlier in the week about being accountable and that he doesn't worry himself with where he is on the depth chart."
Kreider told the Daily News that he thinks he has started to shake off some rust and is starting to come along and play better each night.
The Rangers need to be under the salary cap by Monday at 3PM.
