Oscar Lindberg was scratched for the fifth straight game last night.
Alain Vigneault said that Lindberg got pushed out of the Rangers lineup because of the return of Rick Nash and the success of Viktor Stalberg on the Rangers fourth line.
He added that he thought that Lindberg was playing well but right now the guys in front of him are playing well and no one is deserving to come out. (NYR)
Lindberg said that he is trying to get better on "the small details" so that he can be ready when the time comes. (Ranger Rants)
On his status and when he might return, Lindberg said "It's just day by day and we'll see. Hopefully, it's soon." (Ranger Rants)
He said that it's the coaches decision and "you've got to respect that." (Ranger Rants)
In Lindberg's previous two games before being benched, he played 8:40 against Detroit and 7:02 against the Penguins.
Adam Rotter: Right now Lindberg is the 13th forward though to be honest, I thought he was going to play yesterday instead of Kevin Hayes. Lindberg is going to get back into the lineup at some point but it does seem that if things stay as they are now, he will be the odd-man out in the playoffs. He's had a pretty good rookie season playing 66 games but right now he is in the press box.
