9:37AM: In game two on Saturday, Jesper Fast was moved up to skate with Derek Stepan and Chris Kreider and had an assist, 2 shots on goal, 2 hits and 2 giveaways in 15:05.
Fast played 5:36 of the third period including 5 shifts in the final 10:30 and a shift of 1:23 with Braden Holtby pulled.
Following the game, Steve Valiquette said that Fast is a playoff performer like Claude Lemiuex was but without the feistness.
Valiquette said that he spoke with Markus Naslund. who was a GM in the Swedish Elite League when Fast was there, and said that Fast was always giving second efforts and playing gritty until the whistle. He added that Fast is the kind of player who gets "magnified" in the playoffs.
Ron Duguay said that Fast doesn't back down no matter who he battles with.
Dave Maloney said on MSG that Fast was "tremendous"and Sam Rosen said that Fast was always first on the puck.
Joe Micheletti said that nothing intimidates Fast and that he stepped up and played important minutes.
Chris Kreider said after the game, "Jesper is just a work horse and he never stopped moving tonight. Obviously he had an incredible game, on the fore-check, and there were countless times when he separated the defenseman from the puck and it makes your job really, really easy.
