Girardi had a better playoff than expected but neither player was up to the level that the Rangers needed at that point in the year. They are two players who have been through it all for nearly the entire Henrik Lundqvist, post 2004-05 lockout, era with the Rangers. They are two core players who will need altered or changed roles if they stay with the Rangers or get fresh starts somewhere else. While I can't say for certain if those players will be moved, bought out or whatever, it does seem for certain that if they are back then they won't have the same roles that they have had before.
