2/22/18 | 5:54PM: Darren Dreger spoke about Rick Nash and said, "you have to look at the market specific to Rick Nash and wonder if it's not being hampered by some of the other big players in play like Erik Karlsson or Ryan McDonagh. The ask on Rick Nash is a first round pick, an "A" prospect and a "B" prospect. Perhaps Jeff Gorton and the Rangers are willing to soften a bit there."(TSN)
9:50AM: "In Rick Nash, the Rangers want a first round pick and a prospect and they may want more than that, depends on the team." (TSN 1290)
2/20/18 | Pierre LeBrun said on TSN that there is a lot of interest in Rick Nash with less than a week to go before the deadline.
LeBrun said "5-6 teams, I'm told, have begun to tell the Rangers some of the pieces they could part with. I'm told to varying degrees that Nashville, Columbus, Dallas, Winnipeg and Boston are among the teams that are believed to have shown interest."
He noted that the Jets are not believed to be on the list of teams Nash would go to but Nash has said he is amendable to making changes to his list.
LeBrun closed by adding Nash "will get moved before Monday."
Adam Rotter: We will finally get closure and clarity on where Nash will go and what he will bring in return to the Rangers in the next few days. He's going to go somewhere and the Rangers are likely either going to get a first round pick this year or a recently drafted first round pick that might be closer to the NHL. Nash can be a difference maker and a great supporting player/scorer on Nashville, Dallas, Boston or Winnipeg. Columbus, where he may be most comfortable, doesn't seem like the best fit. They have been struggling and likely wouldn't pay the higher price the Rangers would charge them. All the speculation and guessing will end soon and while Nash will continue playing into April, the Rangers will hopefully have gotten at least one piece they can hope to potentially build around.
