The NHL has announced that the following players from the Rangers are eligible to drafted by Las Vegas in the expansion draft.
The list is headlined by Antti Raanta, Jesper Fast, Oscar Lindberg, Michael Grabner and Matt Puempel.
Vegas also has the ability to sign any of the unsigned UFAs or RFAs that the Rangers have. If one of those players are selected then it will count as the selection from the Rangers.
The full list of players available to Vegas include:
Forward: Taylor Beck, Chris Brown, Daniel Catenacci, Jesper Fast, Tanner Glass, Michael Grabner, Marek Hrivik, Nicklas Jensen, Carl Klingberg, Oscar Lindberg, Brandon Pirri and Matt Puempel.
Defense: Adam Clendening, Tommy Hughes, Steven Kampfer, Kevin Klein, Michael Paliotta, Brendan Smith and Chris Summers
Goalie: Antti Raanta, Magnus Hellberg, Mackenzie Skapski.
Adam Rotter: The expectation is that Raanta, Lindberg, Fast or Grabner will be picked. I think there is an outside, maybe very outside, shot of someone like Nicklas Jensen, who scored 30 goals in the AHL, being selected.
I have a hard time seeing Vegas taking Raanta if, as most believe, Marc-Andre Fleury is going there. I think that Grabner or Lindberg are more likely to be taken than Fast. Lindberg has potential to be a top-nine forward right away for them and Grabner would bring instant excitement with all of his breakaway opportunities.
